Outsourcing Marketing
I was talking to an executive friend of mine today who lamented the fact that in their company marketing and sales never seem to discuss anything. Not surprised by anything that may happen in a large organization, I asked him if he would miss not having a marketing department in the company. He agreed that they might as well outsource the department because he never saw much come out of their marketing department. This idea was more a reflection of his frustration than what he really wanted. For a company the size of his, it would be preferable to leave it in house and get some outside support. I think his company’s problem is leadership in the marketing department.
